NSC EnergyOpti and Suomen Aurinkovoima Enter Strategic Collaboration to Operate and Optimize Solar and BESS Portfolio
NSC EnergyOpti Oy and Suomen Aurinkovoima Oy have entered into a strategic collaboration under which NSC EnergyOpti will operate and optimize Suomen Aurinkovoima’s solar power and future battery energy storage system (BESS) assets across multiple electricity markets.
Under the agreement, NSC EnergyOpti will provide multi-market and multi-asset optimization and trading services, enabling Suomen Aurinkovoima’s portfolio to participate in spot, intraday and ancillary service markets. The collaboration ensures that both solar generation and storage assets are optimized as a unified portfolio to maximize value creation in the Nordic energy markets.
Suomen Aurinkovoima is a Finnish solar power developer and asset owner backed by Oulun Seudun Sähkö, Oulun Energia, Vantaan Energia and Savon Voima. Operating under the Mankala model, the company is rapidly expanding its footprint in Finland’s renewable energy sector.
The company is targeting a significant scale-up of its operations, with a development pipeline aiming to reach approximately 500 MW of solar capacity by the end of the decade, positioning it as one of the key players in Finland’s utility-scale solar market. Multiple large-scale solar park projects are currently under development across the country, forming the foundation for this growth trajectory.
Through the partnership, NSC EnergyOpti will integrate Suomen Aurinkovoima’s assets into its advanced optimization platform, enabling:
Simultaneous participation in multiple electricity markets
Portfolio-level optimization across solar and BESS assets
Revenue stacking from energy and ancillary service markets
Automated trading, forecasting and balance management processes
Jarkko Avikainen, CEO of NSC EnergyOpti, commented:
